The Voice in the Shadows

The reader who left this five-star review on Amazon captured so much of what I set out to do in The Accidental World series: create a world you want to be a part of in your real life.

That is a big part of why I write…to entertain. I want my readers to dream, to go to a special place within the pages of my books. It’s a place where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, where the impossible becomes possible. I want you to get lost in this story, forget about the real world for a while, and immerse yourself in the magic of The Accidental World.

I want to leave you with something else, though. It might be a thought that rumbles around in your mind, a nagging, recurring thought that sits in the dark recesses of your brain that pops up occasionally just to let you know that, at least once, the thought was important. It might be something stronger, more profound. It might be a thought that takes root deep in the mind and moves to a prominent part of consciousness. It could be a question about the nature of good and evil or a reflection on the choices we make in life. It could be a new perspective on the world we live in or a deeper understanding of yourself.

In The Accidental World series, I’ve crafted a familiar yet distinct world. It’s a place we can all connect with, but it’s not a mirror image of our reality. The differences are intentional, and I’ll delve deeper into them in the next blog when we explore the boundaries of this unique world.

Above all, I aim to captivate you. When you reach the final page, I want you to feel that the story has given you more than you anticipated. I want you to laugh, cry, hold your breath, and feel your heart race. And if, at some point, you find yourself staying up late, unable to put the book down, and perhaps even cursing my name for the sleep you’re sacrificing…I’m perfectly fine with that. Your investment in the story is what makes it all worthwhile.

So, I warmly welcome you to The Accidental World and hope that every page is worth the time you spent reading it. And now, it’s back to my creative shadow.

Good reading to you!
